Eco panels with insulation: technical performance and sustainable advantages
ecopanelen

In industrial and utility construction, demands for energy performance, build speed and sustainability are continually rising. Eco panels with insulation meet these expectations perfectly. They combine an efficient insulation layer with a robust outer finish and fast installation. At Ferbeco, eco panels are used as a reliable solution for roofing and wall cladding applications.

What are eco panels?

Eco panels are insulated sandwich panels consisting of:

  • two metal outer sheets (typically steel),
  • a thermal insulation core,
  • a tongue-and-groove system for fast, airtight installation.

They are used as roof or wall cladding in both new-build and renovation projects.

Insulation core: materials and performance

The insulation core largely determines the performance of eco panels. Depending on the project, the following options are available:

  • PIR (polyisocyanurate)
    • Very high insulation value
    • Low lambda value (± 0.022 W/mK)
    • Thinner panels possible with high RD value
  • PUR (polyurethane)
    • Good thermal performance
    • Cost-efficient
    • Widely used in industrial buildings
  • Mineral wool
    • Excellent fire resistance
    • Good acoustic insulation
    • Ideal for applications with more stringent fire standards

RD values depend on panel thickness (e.g. 40, 60, 80 or 100 mm), allowing eco panels to be easily aligned with EPB and energy requirements.

Technical advantages of eco panels

High thermal efficiency
Eco panels limit heat loss and contribute to lower energy costs and improved EPC values.

Fast installation
Prefabricated elements with large spans result in shorter build times and lower installation costs.

Structural strength
The sandwich construction makes eco panels resistant to pressure and wind, suitable for large industrial façades and roofs.

Airtight and watertight
The interlocking system, combined with correct installation, prevents air and moisture infiltration.

Low maintenance
The metal outer layer is weather-resistant and requires minimal upkeep.

Applications

Eco panels are used for, amongst others:

  • industrial halls and production buildings
  • warehouses and logistics centres
  • cold storage and storage facilities
  • agricultural buildings
  • utility and SME buildings

They are suitable for both new-build and renovation projects, allowing existing structures to be updated quickly.
